How does it work?
How does Language Bridge work?
- Unlike most private tutors, Language Bridge is completely free!
- You will practice informal, conversational English with school-age volunteer tutors and your peers.
- We don’t have any strict requirements for the participants, and there’s no homework (unless you want it ;)
- We meet weekly on Zoom. A day or two before the meeting, we will send you a Zoom link and ask that you confirm your attendance so that the tutors can plan the session accordingly.
- If you can’t make it, no worries! We know that sometimes things happen that are out of our control. We just ask that you let your tutor know in advance so that they can plan accordingly. Remember though, that you can only get the fullest benefit from the project if you take the full advantage of the opportunity to participate consistently and to the best of your ability.

Why Language Bridge?
Language Bridge is not like most language programs. Instead of a lecture-based classroom, our native English speaking leaders facilitate natural discussion and encourage participants to converse about a new topic each week.
This relaxed but focused environment allows participants to concentrate on making good use of the language and expressing their thoughts, without feeling nervous about having to be perfect.
Language Bridge gives students an opportunity to use the skills that they’ve learned in a genuine and practical way while being encouraged to keep improving.
Additionally, because we’re a non-profit organization focused on accessible language learning, we will never ask you to pay any sort of fee.
Qualifications
Our tutors—or more accurately, Language Bridge Leaders—are capable students who are excited about language learning and teaching, and value the latter’s unique ability to create connections. Every leader is a native English speaker with authentic knowledge of how the language is used in day-to-day life, making them the perfect guides for their peers across the world. Each leader is ready to work with students and assist them in any problems they come across, and make every session both fun and productive.
